Exploring that experience through chanted psalms and spoken scriptures, it is based on an ancient service traditionally held during Holy Week called Tenebrae (a Latin word for shadows, or darkness).  With cut-back instrumentation, and all the words coming straight from scripture, Shadows creates a musical space where the words of scripture can speak to us directly.
