Shadows is a journey through the experience of Jesus as he moved through the Passion towards the darkness of the tomb. Exploring that experience through chanted psalms and spoken scriptures, it is based on an ancient service traditionally held during Holy Week called Tenebrae (a Latin word for shadows, or darkness).  With cut-back instrumentation, and all the words coming straight from scripture, Shadows creates a musical space where the words of scripture can speak to us directly. 

Whether you use “Shadows” in your own prayer time, as a tool for leading a group in a reflection on the passion, or even as a resource to help you run your own Tenebrae service, Shadows can help you get more in touch with the mind-blowing depth of love that Jesus showed us in pouring out his life for us in the Passion.

Since 2011 schools, communities and parishes in Australia have been finding that the Mass of the Holy Spirit setting is a powerful tool for engaging young people (and old!) in the Eucharist.
